Beginner Bullet Journal Ideas for Pregnancy

Bullet journals are a fun and relaxing way to get your ideas organized and showcase your doodling skills.

Some bullet journal templates you’ve seen are probably complex, but there are plenty of beginner-friendly bullet journal ideas you can create specifically for your pregnancy.

Bullet journals consist of aesthetic doodles and organized writing to document anything in your life. They’re fun to make and even more, fun to look at.

During pregnancy, journaling can help improve your mood, relieve stress, and decrease fatigue when practiced consistently.

In this article we’ll go over some beginner bullet journal ideas, bullet journal layouts, and the benefits to continue on your journaling path during pregnancy.

Beginner bullet journal tracker for pregnancy

Bullet journals are perfect for doodling and tracking your pregnancy along the way. Tracking your pregnancy is a great way to understand your body, manage your progress, and stay healthy during these 9 months.

These page ideas for a pregnancy journal help you track your pregnancy progress in a fun and aesthetic way. Copy them or make them your own.

    Weekly pregnancy countdown

    Pregnancy countdown page

Not only are these fun to make, but they’re also fun to mark off. The weekly pregnancy countdown is one of my favorite pages of a pregnancy bullet journal. Every week, you mark off your accomplishment of surviving another week of heartburn, fatigue, and any other symptom you’re surviving.

It’s the most satisfying once you have all the bubbles checked off.

    Mood tracker

    Mood tracker bullet journal

The mood tracker bullet journal page isn’t exclusive to pregnancy journals, but it sure helps to see patterns in your mood during all of these hormone changes.

Mood trackers can be spread out throughout your bullet journal in the daily and weekly check-ins, but I like to have a dedicated page for it.

Color coordinate your moods or simply write them down so you can see when you have your highs and lows during your pregnancy.

    Habit tracker

    Monthly habit tracker

The habit tracker bullet journal page is a favorite since it helps keep you accountable for healthy habits you want to keep.

The habits could be as simple as eating a healthy meal. You can even use this to track exercise, drink water, read, or, ironically, journal.

    Vitamin tracker

    Vitamin tracker

Every doctor will tell you that you need to take a prenatal vitamin while you’re pregnant, but it’s not always easy to remember. The vitamin tracker is an essential bullet journal page when you’re pregnant so that you can make sure your baby is growing healthy and strong.

    Weight Tracker

    bullet journal weight tracker

Not everyone wants to track their weight especially when you know you’re going to put on a few pounds. Even so, adding a weight tracker to your bullet journal will show that your baby(and you) are growing at a healthy pace.

As long as weight isn’t triggering to you, adding a weight tracker to your bullet journal is a great addition to fill out those pages.

    Sleep tracker

    Bullet journal sleep tracker

Sleep is almost impossible during the later stages of pregnancy. You won’t regret adding a sleep tracker to your pregnancy bullet journal. Even if sleep is rare nowadays, it’s interesting to see your sleeping patterns and how they change as the trimesters go on.

Health tracker (blood pressure, blood sugar)

For some, blood pressure and blood sugar become a problem during pregnancy. Currently, in the United States, up to 10% of women are affected by gestational diabetes and 8% will have high blood pressure.

In these instances it’s important to track your blood sugar and/or blood pressure during pregnancy, so why not track them in your bullet journal?

    Trimester check-ins

Trimester check-ins are pages in a journal that summarizes your entire trimester. You only have 3 so you can fill these pages easily or create them as a spread.

On this page, you can include a photo of your bump, a summary of how you felt, cravings and aversions you’ve had and anything else you’ll want to look back on.

    Exercise tracker

Many doctors recommend some type of physical activity is important during pregnancy to have an easy delivery and healthy pregnancy.

An exercise tracker in your bullet journal helps keep you accountable and will make you appreciate the hard work you put in to keeping yourself and your baby healthy.

List ideas for bullet journals during pregnancy

Lists are another way to easily fill out your bullet journal during pregnancy. These lists are not only pleasing to look at, but they also help you stay on track, especially if you have pregnancy brain

The fun part about making lists in your bullet journal is that you can make them look as complicated or simple as you want. Here are some list ideas to add to your bullet journal for pregnancy.

    Name ideas

    Baby name list

One of the best parts about having a baby of your own is picking out the name. Brainstorming a name is tough, but listing out your favorites is the best part. Creating a bullet journal page dedicated to name ideas for your baby will allow you to make a beautiful list. The memory of what name you would have chosen will stick with you, and it’ll be fun to show your baby to be.

    Hospital bag checklist

Create your hospital bag checklist or copy this one. The hospital bag checklist is essential for making sure you have everything you need when it’s time to deliver.

    Nursery checklist

Whether or not you plan on having a nursery, a nursery checklist is perfect for getting the things you need to make your baby feel at home.

Adding a nursery checklist to your bullet journal is an easy way to get a page filled out that is easy to complete.

    Baby essentials checklist

Here’s another checklist that you should add to your pregnancy bullet journal to keep track of the things you’ll need before the baby comes. Put them into categories or create one giant list to mark off.

    Reading list

    book list for bullet journal

Even if you’re not pregnant, but you are bullet journaling, a reading list is a fun page to add. These lists can simply list out books you’ve read, or you can get more complex by adding your rating, how long it took you to read it, and if you’d read it again.

    Pumping log

Your pregnancy journal can go beyond pregnancy into the birth of your baby and beyond. A pumping log will not only fill out your bullet journal during your pregnancy journey, but it will help you realize how much you’re pumping and how often.

    Baby shower gift list

Use this page to jot down your guest list or write down gifts you received from the baby shower so you can thank them afterwards.

    To-do list

Easy bullet journal page ideas for pregnancy

The list goes on and on for the number of pages and spreads you can create for your bullet journal during pregnancy.

These easy-to-do journal entries during pregnancy can be customized to include anything you want including cravings, symptoms, and even progress photos of your bump.

They’re simple to create and easy to customize, plus they allow you to fill out the pages easily.

    Bump update page

    Weekly bump update journal page.

Update pages like this one are my favorite to create in my bullet journal. These pages can include a bump photo and weekly updates on cravings, aversions, and symptoms.

You can also use this page as a weekly planner.

    Ultrasound page

    ultrasound journal page idea

The ultrasound bullet journal page is a place to add your ultrasound photos and tell us a little bit about your time getting that photo. Here you can add updates about the little baby inside you like their new length, estimated weight, and any news you may have heard from this appointment.

    Milestones

    Milestones page for journal

The milestone bullet journal page is a favorite for my pregnancy journal. Here you can jot down the dates of certain milestones you’ve reached throughout your pregnancy like the day you found out, your due date, the day you made your announcement, and so on.

You can even extend this beyond your pregnancy and write dates of the milestones your baby reaches like the first time they crawled or laughed or smiled.

    Birth page

Here you’ll jot down any information on the birth of your baby. This day is very special so usually you can have a spread of 2 or 3 pages and fill the out with information.

This is where you can add details of your newborn baby or even some information about the hospital or birth place you used.

    Appointment page

The appointment page in a bullet journal will list your appointments, and trust me, you’ll have plenty.

You can even add details about your appointments like new information you learned or how that day went for you.

    A letter to baby

    letter to baby journal page

Even though this won’t be a bullet-styled journal page, it would be a great one to add to the journal for the memory.

The letter to your baby can be as short or long as you want and it can just showcase your feelings and emotions in your current state. This can be for your baby to read later on or just for the memory to have for yourself.

    Announcement page

The only thing more exciting than announcing your pregnancy is holding your little one in your arms when the time finally comes. Memorialize your announcement by creating its own page in your pregnancy bullet journal.

    Gender reveal page

    Birth plan

A birth plan is always something that’s good to have but even better to write down. Make some space in your bullet journal so that you will have the memory and you’ll be prepared once the day comes.

Pregnancy calendar ideas for bullet journals

Calendars are a staple in any bullet journal and they can be useful for your pregnancy journal. Your calendar can consist of monthly to-dos or just a way to countdown the days that pass.

I’ve found that weekly calendars are most useful for pregnant moms since they keep these weekly baby appointments organized.

Breaking those down even further to daily check-ins with hydration trackers, mood trackers, and daily affirmations makes these pages all the more fun to make.
